Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation
Since its establishment in 1982 as a grass-roots organization, the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (“PCRF”) has focused its efforts to improving the care, quality of life and survival rate of children with malignant diseases. PCRF concentrates its efforts in support of laboratory research that will translate into immediate treatment for children with cancer. Relay For Life
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path for a consecutive 24 hours. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length. In August 2011, OPPRE Team Member Ali Hawthorne participated and helped organize a relay held at El Morro Elementary school. Ali was the 2nd highest individual fundraiser and continues to be involved with the charity. To learn more, please visit www.relayforlife.org
